Swan, Peter Penman

died 11 November 1893 at his residence Market Square, Wanganui aged 62 years

A very old resident of Wanganui, Mr Peter Penman Swan, passed away last night after a lingering illness, the disease being cancer in the throat. The deceased was a Crimean veteran, having three medals, and he also served with credit in the 14th Regiment. He had resided for the past 18 years in Wanganui, and up till lately was relieving warder at the local gaol. He was a brother of the late Mr James Swan, well-known in Wanganui, and was 62 years of age. The funeral has been arranged to take place at 3.80 to-morrow afternoon.
